Poker is a card game played between two or more people. It is a gambling game in which the players place bets based on the likelihood of a given outcome, and the game’s rules allow for raising and re-raising of bets. The game is usually played from a standard 52-card deck, with the addition of one or more jokers in some variants. The cards are ranked (high to low) as follows: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. The game can be played in a variety of settings, including casinos and private homes. It is popular in the United States, where it was invented, and in other parts of the world.
